mmmm… yeah that’s too close. I did used to live across the street, but I found that people expected me to ‘pop by’ far too often. So now I live several lights away but about 5 minutes by car. Too close is not a good thing!

You think you live close to work? I once rented the apartment upstairs from my job! I was running the place for someone and I’d get calls about mini-crises all the time, so it seemed like a good idea.

Notsomuch if you want to play hookey from work though, ya know? Not that I ever do. I’m like you. I show up sick, injured, sad, tired… It leaves me a bargaining tool when I want an extra day off for, say, Mardi Gras (all those other callin’ out chicks had to work and resented me) or when my mom comes into town.

I wish it would snow here. I miss the snow.

Oh Nooooo! Drive safely, hon!

I SO called it when I got into my car and the raindrops were looking a lil ‘sleety’. It had JUST started snowing at 9 or so. When it started sticking to the roofs of cars, I called my boss (who is on business in Austin) and all I had to say was ‘it’s snowing and sticking’ and he said go home.

PHEW. If he was in town? I’d probably still be at work, so I shouldn’t gloat too much. *too much* :-D

So I didn’t have to be at work until 10 am today, and when I overslept and woke a 9:40? Holy snow! I called my boss and asked about the snow situation and she said the roads aren’t bad *right now* so I said I would be in shortly.

I was hoping for a “The roads aren’t bad right now… but we don’t know about later,” and then I could have worked from home. But that didn’t happen. And I’m still at work. BooHiss.
